NEW COURSE – Early Childhood I and Early Childhood II – Starts SEPTEMBER 6TH – Early Childhood I – This Education course is designed to provide an overview of the expectations and roles of the early childhood educator. The course provides details about childhood development, health, nutrition, and guidance strategies to help students understand the exciting and unique opportunities that a career in early childhood education can offer. The course is intended to prepare teachers for challenges they may face, but to emphasize the rewards of being able to influence the life of a young child. Designing Blended Learning – Anytime and Anyplace – Starts SEPTEMBER 6TH – Designing Blended Learning is an e-learning course for teachers that explains and demonstrates blended learning with interactive activities and locally relevant classroom examples. The course helps teachers transition to creating blended learning experiences. It provides the background rationale, planning strategies, and suggested technology tools. It offers suggestions for assessing student learning in a blended course and managing the day-to-day blended environment. Project-Based Approaches – Starts SEPTEMBER 6TH – Using specific classroom scenarios, teachers explore the characteristics and benefits of Project-Based Learning (PBL). Throughout the Intel® Teach – Project-Based Approaches course, teachers consider their own teaching practice as they follow a teacher new to project-based learning who discusses strategies with a mentor teacher. Planning and project design modules guide teachers through organizing the curriculum, the classroom, and students for successful 21st century projects.
