Colorado Geographic Alliance Celebrates Geography Awareness Week (November 15-21) on November 19th

COGA_logoSMALLWith only 24 percent of eighth graders proficient nationally, UCCS will host an event designed to boost geography interest and abilities.

The UCCS-based Colorado Geographic Alliance will present GeoQuiz Night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 19 at Clyde’s in the University Center. The geography trivia contest will feature prizes for winners and is designed to demonstrate connections between geography, other social sciences and science, technology, engineering and math.

2015 Colorado STEM Summit
Scholarships Available for K-12 STEM Educators

The mission of the 2015 Colorado STEM Summit is to create a non-partisan, highly interactive and collaborative communication forum that aligns and connects business leaders, educators, policy makers and stakeholders to assure STEM education and training for all Coloradans.

Colorado State University-Global Campus is sponsoring 100 K-12 STEM educators to attend the conference. Scholarships will cover the cost of entrance and are based on availability.

Scholarship Eligibility

If you are a current K-12 educator in a STEM content area you are eligible for this scholarship. To express your interest, contact Micaela Johnson at mjohnson@coloradoedinitiative.org by Friday, August 28. Please include the name of your district, school, and the grade level and subject you teach.
