Academy District 20 is proud to offer another personalized professional learning event, open to all educators on June 7 & 8, 2017!
The goal of the institute is to provide educators with tools, ideas and strategies to create powerful, engaging, authentic learning experiences for students.
- June 7 Opening Session: What is Future Ready? Ignite Your Understanding! – Gear Leaders from Academy District 20’s Future Ready Leadership Team, joined by IT-ES team members will share in a 5-minute Ignite Talk Format information about the Future Ready Initiative and what this means for students, teachers, and community members as we embark on a journey to “plan and implement personalized, research-based digital learning strategies so all students can achieve their full potential.”
- June 8 Keynote Speaker: Zac Chase – Sharing Ownership of Learning for the Future – Our keynote will feature the case for and a case study of the importance of leveraging modern tools, instructional best practices, and professional learning to prepare the adults and children in our schools for the learning and habits our world will require. Through three narratives, Zac will point to what tech-enabled, project-based, inquiry-driven learning can look like in our schools and why it matters. He’ll also outline what his district is doing to make sure students aren’t the only ones getting personalized, responsive learning experiences.
This event is offered free for all District 20 educators as well as all presenters. Out-of-district attendees can attend at the reasonable price of $50 for both days. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance which can be used for re-certification hours. Sign up for one or both days.
