NEW COURSE:  ART – You Can Build ART into Your Teaching – Starts October 4th – In this course, you’ll explore the works of several contemporary artists working with a variety of techniques. You’ll experiment with these artists’ techniques, ideas, and concepts by creating artworks of your own, inspired by their work. These experimental art projects will help you find an idea that you’ll be able to develop a lesson relating to very own curriculum. Educational Leadership in the 21st Century – Starts October 4th – Educational Leadership in the 21st Century provides an interactive e-learning experience to support the face-to-face Leadership Forum. In this course, participants explore and discuss school leadership in our students’ technological 21st century world. School leaders explore examples of best practices, examine leadership behaviors, and develop strategies to better support their teachers. They follow two administrators who work together to better use technology to support teachers and improve student achievement. Participants discuss ideas and strategies with other leaders in the course and apply them to their own practice. Inquiry in the Science Classroom – Starts October 4th – Inquiry in the Science Classroom is an e-learning course for teachers that will give an indepth explanation and demonstration of the inquiry process. Using interactive activities and locally relevant classroom examples, this course is more than just for science teachers.  It is a course for all teachers who would like to incorporate inquiry within their curriculum areas. The course will build a foundation for inquiry and provide the rationale and research basis, common misconceptions, and specific strategies for inquiry as part of any science learning, regardless of the science discipline. Student Engagement with One-to-One – Starts October 4th – This  course will introduce educators to student engagement, one of the most powerful factors affecting student achievement. Participants will explore highly effective instructional strategies in one-to-one learning environments, transforming current instructional units to better engage students by reworking unit content, redefining student work products and reflecting on teaching and learning processes.  Learn to identify the characteristics of engaged learners, assess levels of student engagement, and reflect upon your teaching practices to better engage students.  To register for this course, please click here.

 


Curate, Collaborate, and Create:  A Wealth of Resources – Starts October 4th – Curate, Collaborate, and Create: A Wealth of Resources is a three to four week, asynchronous, Internet-based course. It will present an overview of DigiEducate and provide instruction on locating Content Experts’ online educational resources and integrating them effectively into instructional activities to support student learning. Educators will learn how to create an Integration Plan and develop strategies for using technology in their own instructional settings.  To register for this course, please click here.


Assessments in the 21st Century Classroom – Starts October 4th – Assessment in 21st Century Classrooms is an interactive e-learning experience that offers an in-depth look at assessment that meets the needs of 21st century teaching and learning. In this course, teachers see how assessment strategies can benefit their teaching practices and their students’ learning. They learn how to plan, develop, and manage student-centered assessment. They follow three teachers who are implementing embedded and ongoing assessment methods in their classrooms.
